4Cable Introduces Expanded Output RF2F to Deliver High Powered Optical Signals to the Small Subdivision Market
Conway, SC – 4Cable TV International, Inc. (OTCQB: CATV) (“4Cable” and/or the “Company”), a global manufacturer of outdoor transmission equipment for cable and broadband providers, announced today that it has developed an expanded output version of its RF2F technology to service the small subdivision market. The 16-port RF2F allows cable companies to extend their systems well beyond existing line ends and deliver high powered optical signals to new and existing small subdivisions with a single line extension.
“This further expands the market opportunity through the development of a product that caters specifically to small subdivisions or pockets of homes. By providing cable operators the ability to extend their systems 16 customers at a time, they can introduce their services and products to these new subscribers at an even lower per customer cost than our already inexpensive single port RF2F,” said Steven K. Richey, President of 4Cable. “Demand for the expanded output RF2F continues to build as cable operators begin to recognize the subscriber acquisition opportunity we have created for them. 4Cable expects to start shipping 16-port RF2F units to cable and broadband operators across this country this month.”
A typical deployment for the 16-port RF2F will be a cluster of homes or small subdivision that has been unable to connect to a cable system due to the expense of extending a traditional RF system beyond the 300-foot signal quality barrier of cable lines. Normally those extensions would require an extraordinary expense on the part of the cable company to build the infrastructure necessary to connect them. Those un-serviced customers have had to be content to watch their community members have access to high quality services, including high-speed internet, while they went without. Now with one line extension of up to 10,000-feet 16 homes can be connected for under $400 per customer.”
“The 16-port RF2F combined with an EDFA (Erbium Doped Fiber Amplifier) is the closest thing to magic that exists in cable engineering,” said Gene Faulkner, Vice President Sales and Marketing. “We are able to create a high powered optical signal, capable of supplying full featured two-way CATV traffic and repeat it without any signal loss. This allows us to use 10,000-foot cable extensions to deliver high quality cable programming and services to customers who until now had fallen outside the grid.”
